Why The Name?

The question we get most often is "Why is the name of the church Big T"

The answer is simple: Years ago before the county road had a number it was simply called Big T Road.  The road to the west was called Little T Road.  When the church was founded there over 100 years ago, they just called it Big T Church and it has stuck!

What we believe

We hold the words of our Lord and Savior Jesus to be of utmost importance. We also believe what was taught and preached by the apostles.

We believe that Peter had an understanding of the plan of salvation in Acts chapter 2.  He was preaching Jesus to a multitude when he was prompted with the question "Men and brethren, what must we do?" His answer is found in Acts 2:38

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

It is with this scripture that we believe to secure your salvation you must first believe upon the Lord Jesus Christ.  When you truly believe you will know that there are changes that you must make.  You must then repent of your sins by asking forgiveness from the Lord and then turn away from those sins. You must also be baptized in the one true name which is Jesus. Then ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.  This is made evident by the speaking of tongues.

We believe in holiness and dressing in modest attire. We also strive to live our life as a reflection of Christ.

We know that Jesus Christ is none other than God wrapped in flesh and sent to the earth to bring us salvation!

Come as you are

We know that you most likely don't understand all that we believe.  That is fine.  Please don't let that stop you from joining us in worship.  Come as you are and let God bless you.

What you look like, who you are, what you are wearing, what you have done, where you have been...those things are not important to us.  We want you to come and have a life changing experience!

Feel free to worship with us, we are all here to lift up the name of Jesus with worship and song. We are not better than you, we were all sinners that found the grace of God.
